A new study of 20,000 Kiwis has revealed that, out of the whole country, it is Auckland’s singles who are the most eager for sex.
The study, which was carried out by dating site EliteSingles, looked at anonymous user data to see how much New Zealand singles value time spent between the sheets.
Perhaps it’s something to do with the (bump and) grind of big city life, perhaps there’s just something in the harbour, but Auckland took out the ultimate honours, with singles from the city revealing themselves to have NZ’s biggest libidos.
Honourable mention also went to singles from Napier, whose eagerness for sex put them at second place and to those from Wellington, who took third. Also in the top five were Blenheim (4th ), and Queenstown (5th ), proving that it isn’t always the size of the city that counts!

Of course we can’t all be winners and the survey also revealed the five NZ towns with the smallest libidos. It was bad news for Whakatane singles – they’re the least lustful in the country – but they weren’t alone in their prudishness. In descending order the least amorous parts of the country are:
